Previously there was some loose validation, but it was easy to get an email address slightly incorrect, when adding a testimonial for example, and then find that the testimonial never reached its intended recipient.

To improve things we have added some email address validation code that not only validates the format of the email address, but actually tries to verify that the domain exists too. We hope that this will ensure an even higher number of testimonials reach their recipient, but hope that this doesn’t throw up too many “false positives” too. If you feel that the system is being a little harsh when rejecting your email address, please let us know and we’ll take a look.
