This change is now complete. All new testimonial widgets will be automatically built so that external links open in a new window - thereby leaving the visitor on your website. Existing widgets will change only when something within the widget (such as adding a new testimonial, getting a testimonial verified etc.) occurs.

If you wanted to force your existing widgets to be rebuilt, just go to you "My Widgets" page, then edit your widget in a minor way (such as increasing or reducing your widget width)
